Announcing the 2012 Youth Art Celebration!!!

This annual art show by Connecticut Students in grades K-12 from members of the Connecticut Art Education Association [CAEA], will exhibit in March of 2012.  We have a new location with an excellent exhibition area that can easily display over 300 pieces of art work for our Youth Art Celebration and art show!!! The art show will be open to the public weekdays from 8am to 4pm starting Monday, March 12 through March 30th.  There are no weekend hours accept for the closing reception. Weekday visitors will be asked to check in and out of the school office for security purposes. The closing reception and celebration will be held on Saturday afternoon from 1- 3pm, March 31, 2012 to honor the Connecticut K-12 Student Artists.  All are invited to this Youth Art Celebration: art teachers, administrators, student artists, families and friends from all over the State of Connecticut.  Refreshments will be served and visitors are welcome to come and go anytime between 1 and 3pm.

To submit art work from your school, please follow the guidelines provided in downloads on this web page.  Regional drop off locations will be accepting art work starting Monday, March 5 through Thursday March 8, 2012. [Please contact your drop off volunteer.] Hanging of the K-12 student art exhibition will be Saturday morning from 10-12pm, March 10.  Art teachers and designated drop off volunteers will display the art work.  [A sweet breakfast will be provided!!]  Please volunteer!  We still need regional drop off locations for Tolland, Windham and New London Counties.  All art teachers are invited to attend and bake for the reception.  On March 31, immediately after the reception, designated drop off volunteers will begin "dropping" the art show [take down, organize, and clean up]. Directions to West Woods Upper Elementary School are embedded in the guidelines.

Please consider the honor to display exemplary student art work from your school that will be hung next to other outstanding art works from all over Connecticut. This event and Youth Art Celebration are in the interest of promoting the 21st Century skill of creativity for all children; engagement as a student artist; and advocacy for art education by teachers that are members of our professional organization.
