Why sponsor the FHS Electrathon Team?

Electric vehicles are currently emerging as an exciting new industry. With growing concerns over pollution, energy consumption, and dependence on foreign oil, the age of electric vehicles and electric/gas hybrid vehicles are developing at an extraordinary pace. Farmington High School has embarked on this exciting new field of technology, and we are inviting sponsors to join in the excitement surrounding electric vehicles and electric racing. In participating as a sponsor, your company shows its concern for energy issues and also your desire to help find solutions to these problems. You will be involved in helping with state-of-the-art technology, and your products will be utilized in automotive development. Your donations are tax deductible, too.

Building an electric race car from scratch and taking it to competition is an extremely expensive undertaking. Without sponsor support, a vehicles like FHS electrathon cars would not be possible. The success of the team is directly linked to the amount of support received for the project.

Participation in the Connecticut Electrathon competition will undoubtedly prove to be a terrific opportunity for both Farmington High and those involved in sponsoring the vehicle. This vehicle does and will continue to receive a tremendous amount of exposure both at competitions and at home. Past seasons events have drawn crowds and three of the Farmington's Electrathon cars were featured on Channel 30 News. See the sidebar for video clips!

Although few people will require such electric vehicles for their everyday lives, the image of EVs portrayed by electric racing will definitely have a positive effect on the public's view of electric passenger cars. Thus satisfying the goal of improving public perception of electric vehicles. FHS is pressing further to translating the race results from the electrathon challenge cars to create an electric street car. Please help us reach our goals to translate the theory into practice and introduce students to the future of the automotive industry. Contributions of any kind are greatly appreciated be they financial, materials, knowledge, or expertise.
